To drive to my dad's family
They used to live quite far

I came to realise
Why my dad hated
All this christmas bullshit
Santa's just capitalism in a red disguise
And he wants all your money

Except for empty traditions

And then I started spending
christmas all alone
In peace and quiet and solitude
No family around to moan

And they would come around and braai
And I realised that christmas
Was about spending time with the ones you love
